What is an ORIANA sponsor?An ORIANA sponsor is anyone who provides financial support to ORIANA for the presentation of a page on ORIANA's web site. |
How does sponsorship work?When a page is sponsored, a section of that page, called the Thank You section, is reserved for information on the sponsor. The Thank You section could contain your name, logo, web site address, e-mail address, links, a brief description of your products or services, animations, short movies, and so on. It is an opportunity for you to tell visitors about yourself and what you offer. Sponsorship rates are offered on a monthly or annual basis: Monthly (billed one month in advance):
Annual (prepaid):
* Canadian dollars |
||||
Does a sponsor have to use the Thank You section?No. Sponsors can remain anonymous. |
Who can be a sponsor?Sponsors can be individuals or organizations. There can be more than one sponsor per page and one sponsor can sponsor more than one page. The fee per page remains the same, regardless of the number of sponsors per page or pages per sponsor. |
||||
How large can the Thank You section be?The Thank You section is always the width of the page it is on (approximately 770 pixels) and can be up to 125 pixels deep, as shown below. For a "live" demonstration of the maximum size of the Thank You section on typical pages, go to the Downside Up Earth page (approximately 770W x 5000H) or the Dirt to Dirt: The Food Cycle page (approximately 3 minute Flash movie). The size remains the same, regardless of the number of sponsors. |

What pages can be sponsored?Any page in the web site can be sponsored. A sponsor can also request ORIANA to develop a page that covers a subject of their choosing. In this case*, sponsorship can be prepaid for a mutually-agreed upon length of time, the sponsor can provide support for development, or there can be some combination of these and other options. * In the case of requested pages, expenses may also apply (for example, if travel to the sponsor's site is required). |
What subjects can be covered?No subject matter area is excluded per se but all areas must be within the context of ORIANA's Communications Interfaces. All material must be generic and have educational value. For example, a supplier of food supplements might request ORIANA to develop a page on vitamins and minerals. |
||||
Can only sponsors request pages?No. We invite all our visitors to suggest subjects. At ORIANA, we love knowledge and are happy to investigate any subject area so if there is some topic you would like to see, let us know. |
Is sponsorship the only way to support ORIANA?As the Pinnacle Farms page explains, Pinnacle Farms is wholly-owned by ORIANA. Any support to Pinnacle Farms necessarily goes to Pinnacle but this support does reduce the ORIANA resources that would have been directed to Pinnacle. These resources are then available to develop pages for ORIANA's site. Click on the Pinnacle Farms logo to be connected to a page that allows you to donate to Pinnacle Farms. |
||||
Who owns the page?For pages developed solely by ORIANA, ORIANA retains all rights of ownership and copyright for the page and its content, except for the material that appears in the Thank You section itself. When a page is developed at the request of a sponsor, sponsors may retain some or all ownership, depending on the arrangements with ORIANA. |
Does ORIANA endorse its sponsors?ORIANA cannot and does not endorse its sponsors. However, it is our hope that visitors will recognize the good work that the sponsor is doing and that this will benefit the sponsor. |
Is ORIANA responsible for its sponsors?We do our best to ensure that sponsors are reputable, responsible citizens of the planet and ORIANA retains sole right of final approval of the content of the Thank You section. However, ORIANA is not liable for any actions or activities undertaken by a sponsor. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for additional information. |
